hello, as subject says, the app gets stuck in immersive mode, can't get out by tapping or swiping. have to go out and long press on the app icon to go to the settings. Also, the app seems to be stuck in landscape mode because swiping from right to left brings out the phone notifications and settings like wifi, sounds etc

same guy here. Can i provide some logs or more info to help with these bugs?
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
As in you can't get out of it at all? Or the method long press to go to settings allows you to turn immersive mode back off?
Tapping should exit immersive mode, so I'm not sure why this is. Do other applications work okay for immersive mode (e.g. gallery or video players)?

can only get out of it by exiting the app, long pressing on the app icon to get to the app's settings to disable immersive mode and then also closing the app and restarting it. Not sure what you mean by immersive mode on gallery app, but i did test by opening the gallery, going to a picture. tapping to make the icons go away, tapping again to make the icons come back and it works

So this still happens, nothing's changed after 9 months. Could you look into this please?
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
I don't have a device to reproduce/investigate the issue I'm afraid, which makes this hard. Note that immersive mode is optional - I mean, I appreciate reporting the bug, but if it's causing problems for you using Open Camera it's better to just disable it (long pressing to go to Settings).
I realise I missed the separate point about stuck in landscape orientation - these days Open Camera shouldn't be locked to an orientation. If the phone is held in portrait, then go to Settings/About and paste the info here please?

how would i get a newer version? this is what installs from the app gallery
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
Interestingly the "Display size:" in the About info suggests the display is in portrait orientation, so I'm not sure why pulling down the notification/settings is operating in landscape.
But yes, I agree with trying latest version - for non-Google devices, I'd recommend installing from F-Droid - https://f-droid.org/ ). Whilst I'm not aware of anything that would have affected/fixed this, it seems best to try the version that's updated with latest libraries and targetting a more recent Android version.
