HDR frame count only shows "1/3", never 2nd and 3rd

that's all, just that there's no immediate way of knowing which frame is being captured..
Can you clarify - does it take HDR photos, or is it getting stuck on "1/3" and not taking the photo?

for me NR and HDR sometimes get stuck under very dark conditions or very long exposure times.
