[Open Camera / Android 8.1] How to overcome maximum file size

I've installed Open Camera because I've been told that it overcomes the 4GB storage limit. My Android phone is of version 8.1, the underlying filesystem is confirmed to be ext4, allowing up 16TB files, with way more than 100GB available in my internal storage memory. It saves to mp4. Actually, I never come across a comparison of video file formats in terms of maximum file size. Wikipedia omits that on this page (at the time I wrote this). I've come to the point not to be able to confirm which is the size limit of mp4.

I tested recording and it switched to a new file at 4GB (roughly half an hour in FullHD / 1080p). What's wrong? Is it possible to switch to another output format?

If the file format is not the limit, what's the limit? Is the video capture intent (i.e. Android) limiting recording to 30min like some people suggest (for some tax reasons so that it wouldn't be considered a video cam-corders)?

    Thanks in advance.

I've read here that pre-Android 11 MediaMuxer and MPEG4Writer classes are limited to 32-bit addressing (i.e. < 4GB). Does Open Camera have the ability to encode MPEG4 on its own unrestricted algorithms?

I also want to know about this. Did you find a word around to make longer recordings?
