Hello i want to show a issue that I'm facing , while recording video it is very dark and i have to choose the screen mode "Night Portrait " to see some light in it, why so?! is there any fix for this ?
note: with default camera of my phone ( google camera) all is good but not stabilize.
In open camera it works like a charm except low light while recording
Looking forward for help!
Thanks in advance !

Same problem here. BUT, it worked until some 2 months ago! And suddenly, videos are darker no matter I do. No, it's not about new app version, I've downloaded many versions till almost year and a half old, always the same. Phone is Tesla 6.2 (Ulefone Metal). Yes, not so great phone, but as I've said, it worked without a problem for a year. And, video exposure in other apps works fine, but your app have the BEST motion smooth, that's why I want to stay on it.
I don't wan't to hard-reset phone, I've tried uninstalling app (as I've said, tried many older versions). Maybe it left some files somewhere uninstalled and messes up with the cam somehow? I've tried reset settings from the app too. Nothing helped.

It's unfortunately hard to resolve device specific bugs that I don't have any devices to reproduce it for I'm afraid. If you're having this problem, what device is it? Is it affected by Settings/"Camera API" setting?

"oh well, you get what you pay for..."?
Come on dude, I have paid for apps in the past, and they often can't resolve their issues. Show more appreciation is what I'm saying.

Hi there bud. Love this software for photos, but for the video, I have to use stock camera.
It's just too dark. As soon as I switch to "video mode", preview darkens.
"Exposure compensation" doesn't do anything, which works perfectly fine in "photo mode"
I have an old Huawei Y5 if that makes a difference (sorry, can't afford a better one)

I had the same issue. After getting disappointed with OpenCamera, I started looking for alternative apps and came across a fork of OpenCamera called HedgeCam 2. I faced the same problem there, but I found a workaround: switching from Auto mode to Manual mode.
From what I understand, the issue is related to the ISO setting in Auto mode. While the camera is in preview, the colors look fine. But as soon as I start recording, the ISO drops from around 5000 to 229, and the screen becomes dark. However, this doesn't happen in Manual mode.
I hope this information helps the developers fix the Auto mode issue in OpenCamera.
