It's not possible to do this all the time, as Android voice recognition works by uploading to Google (except for special case always-on phrases like "OK Google"). Though it could perhaps be possibly optionally enabled - it's on my todo to look into this.

Hi Mark, you're right if you intend when the phone is off or when the app is off.
But when the app is on, with the "audio recording" permission noone denied app to listen voice.
Right? ;)

Ops... it seems it still exists:
"Audio control options - If enabled, this allows taking a photo (or starting video recording, depending on the mode) by making a noise. An on-screen microphone button Microphone icon will appear, to start/stop listening. The "loud noise" option will listen for any noise (so you can remotely take a photo by saying "cheese", whistling, or whatever you prefer). Note that leaving the listening turned on may use additional battery. The "voice command" option listens specifically for saying "cheese" - so this has the advantage that it's less likely to be triggered unintentionally. Note that this can't be used to stop video recording - if you want to have some remote control on video recording, see the "Max duration of video" option."

Hello!
At the moment the Audio Control switches off again after it has triggered a photo or video once. I would like to see an option that allows the audio control to remain switched on after triggering so that further photos or videos can be triggered without user intervention. A "continuous mode", so to speak.
Many thanks and best regards!

Hi,
Another feature request :)
It could be great to voice control the camera to take photos when said some special words, like "cheese" or something like this.
Thanks and best regards :)

What value is Settings/More camera control/"Audio control options" set to?
