    Hello,

I am from Czech Republic and new to Android (previously have been on Lumia – WP) and will continue to use MS apps even on Android. However I was searching for good camera application which I have found in yours OpenCamera. I have also purchased your „donation app“ so I suppose that is to support OpenCamera development.

I have one question. Would it be in the future possible to add „remove chroma (color) subsampling“ option for saving JPEG files? It is described here for Irfanview http://www.dpnotes.com/the-best-way-to-save-images-as-jpg-jpeg-in-irfanview/
but I think that Opencamera (as majority of other photo programs) does standard 2x2 chroma subsampling (some theory here http://users.wfu.edu/matthews/misc/jpg_vs_gif/JpgCompTest/JpgChromaSub.html )which produced smaller files suitable for some scenarios but with less colors. To be exact, that option needn’t remove subsampling as a whole but rather switch to 1x1 subsampling (that is how it is described in later Irfanview versions and also e.g. here

    http://jpegclub.org/foveon/index2.html

Current option for setting JPEG quality from 50-100 is completely Ok and I use it (mostly for setting 95 or 100).

Or if that is not possible, enable to save e.g. TIFF files. I know that OpenCamera suports RAW but that is much more problematic for following work.

    Thank you

    Jan Mertl

Thanks for the info - unfortunately the image files come direct from the camera API, so choices are either RAW or JPEG, and I'm not sure there's any way to control the chroma subsampling used.
