I found the Open Camera project while searching for ways to shoot video on the Galaxy Note 3 while bypassing the AGC (Audo gain control). Used with a good external mic, even a lavalier, the native app's AGC renders the audio track of videos unusable. The better the mic, the worse the result. Note that this is a well known issue - recording ordinary audio (on audio, not video applications) on the Galaxy is excellent.
While looking for alternatives camera apps, I found Open Camera to be better than the native Galaxy camera in terms of AGC noise. Is it possible to go even further and neutralize the AGC completely?

I'll have a look info this. Not sure why Open Camera is better than the native camera, I'm not doing anything special here :) http://stackoverflow.com/questions/14377481/how-avoid-automatic-gain-control-with-audiorecord suggests this may not be possible, but I can add the other options for the "audio source", perhaps some might be better still for what you are after.
Disabling AGC would be tremendous... I don't know why this has been done away with on so many apps.
