After update, every photo is 30+ MB, despite unchanged compression and quality settings

I started using OpenCamera when my Samsung camera app got locked into eternal countdowns 2-3 years ago. It's a great app. But after the late sept. update, every one of my photos is 30.3 MB, quickly filling up the storage of my Samsung A5 2017 model.

After checking the compression and quality settings, which remain unchanged, I am baffled as to what exactly is the reason for this.

Is anyone else experiencing the same thing? Hod do I fix that?

Hi, is it possible to view/use these photos in a basic kind of viewer/editor in PC? IT I'm thinking hey might be RAW photos but with JPG extension.

    In any case, I'd try:

    1. Go to the 'Settings' / 'Settings Manager'
    2. Do 'Save settings' (giving a temporary name for it, e.g. 'temp'), so it is possible to return to that configuration.
    3. Do 'Reset settings'
    4. Take photos to see their size.

N.B. The 'Settings manager' / 'Restore settings' -dialog does mot allow to rename nor delete the configurations, in case the configuration 'temp' starts to annoy in that list, the configuration files (*.XML) are by default stored under the path: /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/net.sourceforge.opencamera/files/backups/ and can be deleted/renamed using any FileManager app.

They certainly were JPG files, readable in every relevant application on mobile and PC. I did not find the reason for this odd behaviour, but your tip with resetting the app was perfect. I just reconfigured everything afterwards and I am happy with the result.
