I'm not sure I understand - but enabling the camera for third party applications requires Samsung to enable it (they did this for the S10 series for ultra-wide camera via an update, I have no idea about the A50). You can try reporting/requesting this to Samsung.

Hi Mark!!!
Question to Samsung:
Is it possible that they allow the use of the wide-angle camera by third-party applications on the Samsung A50?
Answer
There is no restrictions on doing a test on using 3rd party apps on your Samsung Galaxy A50, If the wide-angle app is not working then you can just uninstall or remove it and this applies to any 3rd party that you try, you have the power to remove them.

I note the answer doesn't really answer the question :) It just says "test it yourself", and the answer seems to be Samsung don't allow it.
To be sure, in Open Camera what does Settings/About say under "No. of camera"? (Or paste me the whole about info if you prefer.)

Hi Mark!
When i change the camera... i can select:
Rear Camera ID 0
Front Camera ID 1
Front Camera ID 2
But...the phone have 5 cameras... three rear cameras and two front....in Camera 2 probe app i can see onlye the specs of these three cameras and nothing about the wide angle camera...
Samsung say me this...
I understand that you want to use wide angle camera with the app Open Camera which is a third party application. Rest assured that we are here to help you.
Regarding your query, please be advised that third party applications have different features for camera. Wide angle camera feature of your phone will work if the application support this kind of features. But if not, it would be best to contact the developer of the application to assist you further.

The fact that Camera2 probe only shows three cameras confirms that Samsung aren't making the wide angle camera available to third party camera applications. They have enabled this for the S10 series, but I guess not for the A50.

I have same problem with wide angle camera on my Galaxy A40.
Device has two back cameras and one front. OpenCamera detects three cameras but two of them are detected as front cameras, when swithing cameras with app, the selfie camera appears duplicated.
If Open Camera is actually detecting all three cameras but one is actually repeated maybe the camera ID is wrong?

Me too! Just purchased an A40 and the front lens shows up twice (ID1 / 2), with different resolutions though. ID0 is the normal rear lens, and the ultra-wide is not available.

Hi,
Same here with Galaxy A51, max allowed resolution is 4000x3000 and OpenCamera 1.47.3 can not use the 8000x6000 resolution whether Camera2 API is used or not.

Well, I have three cameras in Xiaomi Redmi Note 9T 5G, but I do not consider that as a problem. For 99% of the photos I shoot with Open Camera, using the the main camera module.
For the other 1% I use the default camera, these shots being macro photos and so called portrait photos. One of the camera module is quite coarse by MP count, and it is only used together with the main camera module, to provide tight/short DOF for such portrait closeups. The results are not even near to the beauty that f/1.4 on 35mm dSLR provides but still quite neat from a phone camera.

Hello everyone, i would like to know, why the app doesnt work with the third lens (the wideangle).
Thank you.
As in it doesn't show up when you switch between cameras? This would happen if Samsung haven't enabled it for third party applications.
and how is possible change that?

If Open Camera's About info says 2 cameras, note this means the front and back cameras.
