I found that if switch to Camera2 API, Open Camera's auto focus function is somehow broken.
When I touch the screen to focus, it would optimize focal and then show red bracket, and if take picture, sometimes would refocus to out of focus result a blurry picture.
No such problem on Footej and GCam.

Had the same issue and it worked again after turning off face detection. Don't know why.

Also having focus problems with Camera2 API: Focusing before the shot seems to work, after the shot is taken it changes out of focus. The produced image is often out of focus as well. Seems to be hit-or-miss but mostly miss. The face detection switch indeed seems to somehow affect this, turning it on/off seems to sometimes reset the focus to working behavior before it breaks again. Original Camera API works reliably in contrast. Would love to see a fix on this. Cheers

Same from my side - I'm using oppo reno 7. There is a dedicated 'locked focus mode' which do not work ( the focus changes anyway ). Additionally when using auto focus the sharpness is perfect on infinity, but with manual focus, infinity is always blurred.

Same here - locked focus does not lock. I am using a Oneplus8T.

It's the same for me on Samsung s20 ultra, rooted, original rom. But I didn't find any old picture out of focus, and I always set Api2

Google pixel 5a here. Turning on manual exposure controls breaks focusing completely, all pictures turn out blurry. Going to 'auto' for exposure setting fixes the thing.
