I am experiencing a strange problem on my Pixel 6 Pro. Saving location data to JPEG files worked for a few days after I first installed OC on my Pixel 6 Pro. However, It now doesn't work anymore for some unknown reason. I have tried numerous things already without success: * Toggled save location data on and off * Disabled and re-enabled location features in the phone settings * Restarted the phone * Changed the storage location from DCIM/OC to DCIM and back * Changed back to the original camera API from Camera2 API * Enabled storage access framework

Strangely the location is saved in the DNG file if I select RAW but not in the accompanying JPEG file. Location data is saved in the JPEG file if I use the native camera app on my Pixel 6 Pro.

Is there anything else I could try?

So I updated my Pixel 6 Pro to Android 13 yesterday. It didn't make a difference as far as storing GPS location in the JPG file is concerned. The GPS location is stored in the DNG file when I shoot RAW+JPG, it is stamped on to the photo when I shoot JPG and turn-on Stamping, but it is not stored in the JPG file itself.

I'm now also aware of at least one 3rd party camera app, which stores the GPS location in the JPG file: Filmic Firstlight Photo App. So it seems possible.

PS: I made the first post in this thread but had forgotten to log in.

Does anybody else experience this problem? Any other ideas what I could try?

Make sure the app still has permissions. Some versions of Android disable permissions that have not be used recently.

The app has the location permission.

Strangely, when I enable "Stamp Photos" the GPS location is stamped into the photo, however, it is not saved in the JPG file.

It's a known problem with the Pixel 6 Pro (and possibly other Pixels?), for some reason the device doesn't add the location info to the Exif data. So possibly a Pixel bug, but I can see if I can work around it.

On my Pixel 6a I also see that location, including a lot of other exif data is not being recorded. This is with version 1.50.1 and Camera2 api. Location setting is set properly in app, and location permissions are set properly on device. On my Pixel 4a (Android 12) location (and other exif data) record properly
