Hello, is this possible to show the audio level meter on the screen when shooting a video? And eventually, to activate audio monitoring, even with a short latency?

i hope have this features too, even a simple audio level meter are very helpful .
headphone audio monitoring are the best of course
i had try other app to monitor the mic ,
but once the those app are running backgroud ,
open camera refuse to start record video
I am voting for this feature very much!
When shooting video on the go with an external audio sources (microphone or some line-in rig) there is a pretty much problem with controlling of input sound. I understand that audio monitoring via headphones is a quite stranger thing for average camera app itself. But even just simple graphical input audio level indicator would be much better then nothing.
BTW, there is Cinema FV-5 video camera application (abandoned for about 2 years) which is derived from Open Camera. That app does have good input audio level meter. I dream to see similar meter in Open Camera! =)
Regards!

Voting for this as well. Liek Kirill, I use an external mic on location, and just being able to visually check that there's indeed some level of sound being recorded is of paramount importance.
Thanks for your consideration!

New option On screen GUI/"Show audio level meter" is added for the new version, this will display an on-screen audio level when recording video.

We also need to be able to adjust the gain. I use rode smartlav+ on moto g6+ and I get too loud sound. I can't do anything in terms of positioning the mic on talent.

Nice option added. Thanks!
I think would be better with the following options: smaller, vertical level, at the left of the screen, and present all the time, not just when you not recording.
My two cents :)

have owned HUAWEI P20PRO for one month now, when I use Open Camera app for video the audio is very distorted and shows a high amount of clipping on waveform. The microphone seems to need attenuating, this does not happen with the stock camera
I previously owned a HUAWEI P10 PLUS, and used Open Camera successfully with that phone.. I.E.no problem.
I hope that you can have this fixed for me..

The levelmeter is awsome.
The audio monitoring would make this app ideal. Any possibility to add this feature?
Thanks,
Cris

The only android video recorder app that has an audio gain feature on the screen is Irig Recorder 3 but this app is quite buggy, ie, will freeze & crash.
