I'm using this apps external mic just fine with a Moto X via the USB audio output of the Irig Duo, thanks!
My goal is to sync 3 cameras via the LTC audio output of the newly released Sound Devices 10T. Motive: XJadeo on Linux seems to support LTC, and I'm a Linux user.
The signal path is:
Speck Xtramix 8 balanced outputs --> SD 10T --> BNC timeout out --> L input of Irig Duo --> 10T audio out
Speck Xtramix master outputs -> Scratch audio track R input of Irig Duo. Repeat SD 10T outputs and Xtramix master outputs for 3 cameras. The Irig Duo also has TRS outputs, which will help here.
Problem: While that will work, the phones internal clock will drift. Not a problem on short videos, can be a problem with longer videos. See this video link on why.
Some expensive cameras can ""genlock" on the incoming audio, as a much better alternative to recording this signal on the L audio input.
Question: Do you know if Android is capable of doing Genlock? Is there a good place in the code to add some type of external timecode sync? If not, any thoughts on syncing multiple cameras via WIFI, GPS etc?
Kind regards,
Robert
