I have a Samsung Note 8. Started using USB Mic (DPA d:vice convertor with DPA mic) in mid April with Open Camera. They worked perfectly, until the latest firmware update on 30 April:
The video recorded now is fine but the audio has all become noises (something like mid frequency beating sound).
I am using the same USB Mic with my other USB Recording Apps that work fine without any issue (like bofore the firmware update).
Can anyone shed some light on this? Or hopefully Mr. mark-h will look into the problem? I truly wish that Open Camera will work again as it's an excellent opensource camera app that can provide good alternative to the phone's original camera app of andriod OS. It's also the only one that I can find that supports USB Mic.

Have also tried other apps that support external USB Mic. It seems that it's related to the AGC (automatic grain control) setting. All other apps have the same issue but the one that can turn off AGC will solve the problem. So, only Camera FV-5 allows me to do that, and thus solves the problem. Really like Open Camera and wish that Mark-h can include the AGC setting in future updates.

Android version: 8.0.0
Samsung Experience version: 9.0
Baseband version: N9500ZCU2CRD7
Kernel version: 4.4.78-13368517 dpi@SWDD5901 #1
Build number: R16NW.N9500ZCU2CRD
The video recorded now is fine but the audio has all become noises (something like mid frequency beating sound).

Unfortunately I'm not aware of what Android API option for video recording corresponds to AGC (anyone know?) I see that https://developer.android.com/reference/android/media/MediaRecorder.AudioSource has added some new options (e.g., UNPROCESSED), I'll add support for those at least.
Worth a try. Thanks.
