Is there any way to lock the focus? My device is a Motorola Droid Maxx (Android 4.4).
When photographing small foreground objects (such as wildflowers) which have a distant background (such as other plants in the background) the camera often refocuses to the background before I can even snap the photo. Some way to lock the focus would be a great feature.

Not yet, but I hope to add such a feature soon. Possibly a "manual" mode where the focus only happens when the user touches to focus.

This app is t closest I found so far that has a real manual focus.
It still doesn't work satisfactory. Infiniti works gr8, finally I can take sunset not moon shots.
But in macro it is still auto focus / semi auto.
To take a close up of a flower, I just need it in t closest setting possible (for t current zoom). I then move to camera to optimal focus (and max magnification, to get t most details).
Ideally, there was a small window in this mode that shows individual pixels
I'd b willing to help if need b.
I downloaded a t 10 apps that said manual focus, but not 1 of them truly has.

Note that Android doesn't support true manual focus, where the focus can be set to a specific distance. The manual focus in Open Camera just means that it only sets off an autofocus when the screen is touched.

Even when using t volume rocker to control focus (gr8 idea), in t minimum, it still tries to fin t ideal focus n then settles for something less than the minimum in macro mode :(
