I am LG g2 owner and your open camera is one of many camera app from market where I don't see dead piksels on video recording.
I would ask you is impossible to develop video recording option. In next version you could add fps setting because in lower light we very lost fps. In dailylight. I can have 30fps on out side. On rooms the fps is very low. Max. I had 9 fps. Your app is great and I believe you can do something with losing fps In lower light and in Rooms.
Because no it is big problem.
I think good option is add to bitrate option and develop audio recording.
Thanks a lot for read my letter. I hope some of my thinks will you think about
It in next update.
Best regards

It may be that the LG camera application is taking advantage of something specific for LG devices, not available through the standard Android API. I searched on XDA, and can see various ports of the LG camera to AOSP, as well as various modified versions - which are you running, do you have a link to the thread? I can't find source code for any of them, but I can try asking.

I am getting inconsistent frame rates on the Galaxy S4 and indeed the lighting has some influence on this. I get 30fps (which is the max. my phone can do) in good daylight but only around 15fps in low light. The only thing that seems to help is pointing the camera to a light source and then locking the exposure. So it seems to be related to the shutter speed, as Mark's above link suggests. But I'm not sure if this is the only factor. Also, the frame rate may change over time in the same video clip which makes post production quite difficult. Anyway, it would be great to have a “force constant frame rate“ option (within the phone's cpabilities of course).

Hi,
Dropping the frame rate in low light would be done by the phone/camera, rather than Open Camera - the following threads suggest that this tends to happen on some devices, due to the device having to do more work in low lighting:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2259124
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/12099845/low-lighting-leads-to-low-fps-when-recording-video
Does it get better if you decrease the exposure (suggestion at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=925020 )?
Audio recording should be available, it's controlled by a separate option (Settings/Photo and video settings/Record audio).
Ufortunetly it did not help. Do you have any things how to help with this for my LG g2.
Best regards
Paul
I hope you can do something with low FPS in next update od tour program.
Unfortunetly decrease on ensure does not work.
