You can change the folder via Settings/More camera controls/Save location. Maybe try unticking "Use Storage Access Framework" and then resetting the save location. Default is usually something like /storage/emulated/0/DCIM/OpenCamera. If you can't find it, maybe try Settings/Reset settings to reset everything to default.

Same problem here. Using a Moto G 3rd gen with Android 6.0 My SDcard is also set to internal. And I get the "failed to save photo" error every time. No matter what I select as default storage folder, the app won't save photos.
NEVER MIND - I rebooted phone and app is saving photos now.

Same problem here with Moto G4 and SD card set to internal. Happened on Android 6 and is now also happening on Android 7. After reboot camera will save pics for a while but after a day or so it is again "failed to save photo". The folder is /storage/emulated/0/DCIM/OpenCamera on the SD card.

I get this too.
Moto G 4G (Peregrine)
e.foundation ROM (Android 7.1)
OpenCamera v1.47.3 Code: 74
Package: foundation.e.camera
Android API version 25
No matter what I try (enable or disable storage access framework) I get failed to save photo

Hi everyone!
I had the same problem. I fixed it this way:
Go to Open Camera -> Settings ->Mor Camera controls -> Save Location -> Set the Location (I choosed DCIM/Open Camera).
That's it!
