The default camera app on my Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G had a maximum exposure/shutter time of 10 seconds. With OpenCame max is merely .5 seconds. Is that the physical upper limit of the camera sensor and did the default camera app just stitch together multiple photos or does OpenCamera somehow do something wrong?

It's the upper limit of what Samsung allow for third party camera applications (for whatever reason).

The app DeepSkyCamera can overcome that limit though, somehow. I've worked extensively with the long exposure images I've taken with my A52s and they are legitimate long exposures. This means there must be a way to circumvent this limit. Would love to hear your thoughts on this

I can't find a setting called 0,5s in Open Camera on my A54. However Open Camera offers 1/10s as well as 0,1s. Seen the fact that the applied exposure looks quite different, I guess that this is just a mistake in writing. Should I assume 0,5s instead of 0,1s ?
And if you should finally find a way to circumvent the limitations I would like that very much also. ;-)

Thats very annoying. I was planning to get a Samsung A54 but I guess it has similar issues. Is the Samsung S22 or S23 any better?
Is there a list anywhere with new phones with good cameras that support FULL Camera2 API?
Basically phones that have snapdragons CPU platforms are the ones that best support Camera2API
