I'm having a very specific issue with the display I'm connecting OpenCamera to. Essentially the Samsung DeX interface has issues recognizing when the phone is being rotated and will stretch the portrait mode to a 16:9 ratio when it's supposed to display 9:16, as well as being locked to landscape orientation with stretching all over. A simple band-aid fix might be to include other degrees of rotation for the camera preview such as 90 and 270. I don't know exactly how difficult this is to implement and I'm sorry if what I'm asking for is impossible.
