I think you're right
This app is the best camera app (at least on F-Droid) but it lacks the Panorama function. I've read on this forum that the dev is not looking into implementing such a feature right now, but it would be really great to have it available in the app sometime

Best camera-app I've tested, I use it for almost any picture on my phones. It's very sad to see, there's no way in getting the panorama-feature soon. Could the author(s) point out what would help, more devs or some money? We could collect some as a community-effort. The other thin is, what about a standalone-version for android cameras? what do you think? best regards al ron

It's on my todo. More time would help but I don't think anyone can give me that :) Or I can accept patches from other developers (though this is a fairly major piece of work).

In the first place (when you have the time), you can can simply add a mode to shoot the necessary photo to make panorama. And after users can build the view on their PC (software make it easily, like Hugin).
Same for the HDR there is good PC software for that (like Qtpfsgui), but if nothing is provided it is impossible to take different pictures with different exposures while changing settings without moving ...
Thank you for your great job

I also crave for a panoramic assistant app on Android for later stitching on the desktop computer. I looked into several apps and A Better Camera came closest: It allows to save the individual pictures separately and has nice UI which even allows to start with an an angle (https://youtu.be/KXBbNijbEqk?t=4m9s). Unfortunately it only allows panoramas along the long axis of the phone and full picture quality can't be used because ressources are needed for the mandatory stitching afterwards.

Good to hear you're working on the panorama mode. A happy user of Open Camera for half a year now I finally today bought your donation app at the Play Store. Keep up the good work Mark!

Hey Mark, I love Open Camera, but still have to resort to my resident camera to get panorama mode. Any chance we'll see that feature soon? Some of my best shots end up jagged, so I'm starting to look around for another app, but really wish I could just stay with Open Camera. Thanks!

Old school pano would be great. Everything is built for VR these days.
Spin and stich to wide shot is all I need most of the time.
Nexus S had a great pano. I could eather rotate on the spot, or walk down a wall and it would capture the wall 'slit scan' style. Great for capturing grafitti or real estate.

Adding a Panorama mode will definitely make this the perfect camera app. But too bad, I'm moving on to other apps like Footej now.

Hi
Is there any update to this?
It would be great to have a panoramic option.
I've started writing it at least - but a lot more work still to go!

... But then it would be really perfect!
