Weirdness switching between auto and manual white balance

Hi having a bug or something when switching between auto and manual white balance.

If I open the app and it's on auto WB, everything works and looks as expected.
Then I switch to manual WB, and the preview and the photo taken become very greyed out, that saturation drops entirely and I cannot seem to match how it was on auto no matter what I do.
Then if I switch back to auto, the preview does not change at all, it remains as it was when manual WB was selected, and the photo taken does indeed change, but not back to how it was when the app first opened.

Attached are 3 images taken.
A is on opening app with WB on auto.
B is switching to manual WB and trying to get the image as green as possible.
C is returning back to auto WB without restarting the app.

Just for reference, I am using a Redmi Note 8 Pro, Camera2 API. I have no way of checking if the same happens on another device.
