There is a problem I know many of us have experienced. You need to film a
selfie shot for a video. The phone has a fantastic back camera but you
can't judge the shot when its facing you so you resort to having to use the
front facing camera, which is pretty much universally absolutely
horrendous. If only we could somehow see the Open Camera viewfinder and
interface externally.
I purpose a web view that can be toggled on from within the settings. Open
camera can create a local web-server that displays the video feed at
reduced frame rate, just to judge the shot placement and offer the camera
controls via some buttons, so you can set up the settings via your browser
without having to grab the phone and look at the phone screen. Heck, if the
video feed is not an option, maybe have it allow us to take a still and
display it within the browser interface.
I wanted to see if something like this could be implemented for Open
camera. It's been my top choice for video filming on both Pixel 6pro and
Galaxy A5.
