Good afternoon, pictures taken with some camera modes wont open with the 3rd party gallery app, I'm using Simple Galley from SimpleTools (https://github.com/SimpleMobileTools/Simple-Gallery), photos taken with the STD mode, won't open with it, instead it tries to use the AOSP's default Gallery app, this becomes an issues when the phone gets debloated (default app removed), it just shows a message "No gallery app available".
On the other hand, a picture taken with Noise Reduction mode opens fine with the 3rd party gallery app.
Is there any possibility of setting a default gallery app on Open Camera?
Thank you in advance.

All photos taken with Open Camera do open with Simple Gallery without any problems, regardless of the photo mode. You'll need to rebloat you device.
Users choose the default gallery app at the first use, it is a common/default functionality in Android OS. This choice can be cleared in Apps / Manage apps.

Thanks for the reply.
I never chose a default app for what I use except Launcher, Phone, SMS and Browser.
Regardless, if there is only 1 Gallery app present, shouldn't Open Camera be able to make use of it instead of giving that error?
Edit: Tried 3 additional camera apps, Simple Camera, Focal and Quick Snap, all 3 opened the Gallery with no issues.
Edit: Even with 2 Gallery apps (Simple Gallery and LeafPic Revived) OC still doesn't detect any of them when a photo is taken using the STD mode.

This is just weird. What is the Image format that you use? What is the RAW setting? Are you able to view the those STD mode images by going directly to the Gallery app?
"OC still doesn't detect any of them when a photo is taken using the STD mode."
Open Camera does not detect any kind of photos, we take photos using Open Camera. When we tap the preview icon in Open Camera , it issues a command to the Gallery app to open/show the photo in question.
When you shoot STD mode photos, do you see that the preview icon reflects taken photos, so that the icon face changes each time a photo is shot?

It's a Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T (Resurrection Remix A10 ROM).
This only happens with certain photos, even with STD mode I've figured that sometimes it does work, now the awkward part is that, if I move the same image from the microSD Card to the Internal Memory it opens fine, and I've been able to reproduce this consistently. So this issues only happens when I'm using it to store photos.
I'll have to check with another card, possibly this one might be damaged or something, so far I've tested with h2testw and everything came back fine.
I left a logcat on my 2nd reply, but I lack the knowledge to analyze it, can you tell me if there's anything there that points to the external memory being the issue?

Hmm, anyway everything suggests that both Open Camera and Simple Gallery are working perfectly on all other than your device.

It could be a very minor glitch, such as the custom ROM not being able to cope with too slow SDcard.

I have other apps that save files to the SD Card much more regularly than OC, Browser, New Pipe, Neo Backup, TorrServe MatriX, foobar2000 (reads audio files), so neither the custom ROM nor the SD Card are at fault here. The card is a Kingston Canvas Select Plus SDCS2/64GB, rated at 10MB+ write/read so far every test I've made on it came back with no issues. Tried with another SD Card and the issue persists.
Using the internal storage works fine, so I'll use it as a workaround, thank you once again for all the input.

In case somebody will need it, I had the same issue, but for me worked the solution of switching on the option 'Storage Access Framework'. After that, I can open chosen location in third-party gallery app without problem.

Using JPEG. Not using RAW. Yes, can view the images directly by going to the Gallery app.
Yes, the preview icon reflects the taken photo.
I would uninstall both apps and then reinstall them, that possibly could resolve the issue.
What happens after taking a STD mode photo, when you tap the preview icon?
I'm not sure what's going on I'm afraid - Simple Gallery is working okay to launch from Open Camera for me. What device/OS is this?
