This is the best App I ever used. I donated, I installed in every Android device I had. However, please include settings backup/restore function in the next major release, that is a pain of ass to redo every setting everytime when I need to reinstall the app or reset device. Thank you.

Might i suggest that you change the location of the backed up settings file to the location where photos are saved? At least that way we would know where it is and would be able to save it when a phone wipe occurs.

Did anyone ever discover where the backup settings is located? Need to backup settings file to transfer to another phone.

The problem is recent changes Android, which have basically crippled file access, and in particular the "external" application folders that previously were app-specific folders that could share data with other applications, can no longer be accessed by any other application (including file managers).
For transferring to a new phone however, the standard Google backup should work for this.

If anyone is following this: I just spent an hour trying to copy a backup file from one phone to another. Google's 'Files' doesn't show the apps Data folders, nor does Ghost Commander. 'Total Commander's does show the 'Android/Data's folder and the backup files. You can select them to move, and TC says it doesn't have permission, but it can show the file in the Files app for you, even though you can't browse to it yourself. However, when you share the file to the downloads folder of another device, and try to copy it to the backups folder, the share dialogue is lost when you select the destination. :(
Seems silly not to be able to do such a basic thing.
I really hate the way apps hide our data so we lose years of work if we delete the app, but I was surprised to find that Open Camera backups were in the app instead of the user's own files, and there was no way to specify an external folder.

Please see my comment above - it used to be there were two types of app-specific storage, internal that was private, and an external folder that was app-specific but viewable by other applications (with Open Camera using the latter for this). Android 11 then changed this to make both types of folder completely private.
I'll have to rewrite this functionality in future to support this again (which unfortunately isn't just a case of choosing a different folder).

To access the data folder you can use MiXplorer with Shizuku. No root needed, only ADB.

The app needs the option to backup the settings to a file, and to restore
them.
