It would be great to have a date / time stamp for videos, just like the ones for photos. Is this an easy thing to implement? Is it already there and I just don't know how to make it happen?
There is another Android app on the PlayStore that 'specialises' in this, however it's video recording auto-exposure and focus are trash.
There is Settings/Video settings/"Video subtitles" which does this as a separate "subtitle" file - not all video players support this though. Embedding into the video file itself is a lot harder (would have to edit and re-encode the video as far as I know), and to be honest is less flexible.
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
It has a timestamp overlay that updates as the video is recording (including seconds that tick by). Also GPS by location name rather than coordinates.
Please know that I know how ignorant I am of how difficult coding for this kind of thing is. To be doing this high quality work basically free is astonishing.
(side note: I'm studying psychology at uni and intrinsic motivation is an area of interest. It's both a blessing and a curse!)
Thanks again for your time, effort and understanding.

Hi Mark,
I can't believe you responded so quickly! You're better at this than gigantic corps with endless piles of cash. Amazing <3
Here is a link to the app I was referencing: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jeyluta.timestampcamerafree&hl=en
