Open Camera is one of the few apps that does exposure bracketing is RAW. I then process these into HDR with PC software. I love this app because of the flexibility and functionality it provides, it's simply brilliant for this purpose.
I use the Galaxy S9+, a phone with a dual aperture. Sadly, when using Open Camera I am stuck using the f1.4 setting in good lighting conditions. The Samsung camera app gives me the option to use f2.4 for better focus and clarity but it doesn't do automatic exposure bracketing, so that's not an option. I would absolutely love it if you could introduce the capability to change the aperture setting. Variable apertures are likely going be appearing in more new smartphone cameras, so it would be a great addition not just for current Samsung users but for more people down the line as well.
The Google Camera port by Arnova8G2 includes this capability. I'm not sure how he/she did it, but perhaps it's an easy feature to implement and they'd be willing to help. Please take a look at adding it, I'd appreciate it very very much as Open Camera is simply the best camera app out there today. And even if it's not something you're interested in, a huge thanks to the devs for making this awesome free app!
Cheers,
Stefan

Hello, Mark! Did you have any progress in this work? I'm also interested in this feature! It would be very cool to control aperture size! Thanks for this great app, btw!

Hello, Mark, I see you put variable apertures on 1.48.1 version. Thank you for that!
But I've found a bug. It works very well on photography mode, but whenever I set the aperture to f/2.4 and I try to start recording a video, the app changes the aperture back to f/1.5. It seems the app doesn't recognize variable aperture on video mode. Can you check this issue? Thanks!

I have the same problem. Did you find a way to make it work?

Thanks for the info, I see this on my S10e too. It's on my TODO to see if this can be supported.
Thank you Mark! Please keep us updated.

This will be in the next version (1.48) that will be out hopefully in the next few days. (Requires Settings/"Camera API" to be set to Camera2.)
Wow! You're amazing! I can't wait for this update. Thank you!
Hello Mark, I'm stopping in to +1 Stefan's request: variable aperture selection would be immensely helpful.
Your app is by far the best on the market and thank you for sharing it with us!
