I will compliment you on some features of the Open Camera app.
The first compliment on an Open Camera feature is RAW mode. Access to untampered output of the hardware is the main attraction. RAW is the feature which draws me to the app.
RAW mode works when the device has enabled the Camera2 API. I suggest a feature of more focus on the Camera2 API such as a Camera2 API check and test screen. More focus on the RAW mode Camera2 API untampered hardware output. Whatever you can do to make RAW mode the best and most supported feature.
Next it is the only app which can save video as it records with hands free. Every other app the user has to press the stop or save button. In tough conditions this may often result in data loss. With open camera there is a maximum duration which can be set at 10 seconds and when set the video will continuously save without any user interaction. Compared to losing everything this is so great at most you can only lose the last 10 seconds. This is important.
I will suggest a feature of a video gallery mode made specifically to play the many saved parts of the video in order seemlessly. The analkumar player app does this however it would be handy to have it in app and not have to rely on an extra app by analkumar. Again very simple no added features only the ability to play the multiple saved recordings in order without pause as a continuous flick. Keep it simple and minimal no extras.
The lock zoom or remove zoom lack zoom feature is handy.
Last I compliment Open Camera on the exhaustive amount of features it has what looks to be every feature possible which other camera apps may have tuned and hidden. It seems like the parent of all camera apps where every other camera app is a subset of open camera.
I suggest the feature of a calibration slideshow or walkthrough screen that guides the user to setup all of the settings when installing the app new. You would want to compare with the default camera app assuming it is configured right and set the Open Camera app the same settings and try to go up from there to find and set all of the settings for maximum utility.
America needs copwatch and copwatch needs cameras. Open Camera is the only app that saves the video hands free.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions! Yes it's true, some sort of intro guide could be useful. I don't have immediately plans for a built-in gallery I'm afraid.
