Hi Mark-h,
First, thank you for creating such a powerful open-source camera app. I am
very thankful for this affordable open-source option! As as a newer
YouTuber/entrepreneur starting out, keeping the costs down is critical and
this open-source camera app is a game-changer, thank you!
As mentioned in the title, I am requesting the feature of Pause (pausing)
/Resume an active video recording via bluetooth "volume key" function
creating a single (one) video file. Specifically the ability to pause and
resume video with a bluetooth remote under SETTINGS > MORE CAMERA
CONTROLS.... > VOLUME KEYS function section.
As of today searching through google play store and searching through
google results there does not appear to be a product or service to provide
this.
I believe there is a great demand for this feature as more and more people
are starting online entrepreneurial type businesses which all require
building your brand on social media, especially in a post-covid19 world.
Personally I've chosen youtube (FindGreatTenants.com) so I am finding I
take a lot (I mean a ton of retakes) retakes for recording my how-to
videos. Generally, for a 5 minutes, there are 20-30 minutes of raw video. I
except this to get shorter as I improve at my delivery but it would save a
great deal of time and storage in post-production by not having to edit out
as much dead space on the raw content.

requesting this feature but it was a stale post from 2018, so I thought it
would be better to start a new post and clarify in greater detail the exact
request.
I'm not sure from a coding perspective if this is a big or small ask but
thank you for looking into it and keep up the great work Mark-h!

Protip: The post-COVID world is the same as the pre-COVID one, there are just less of us who remember the days when YouTube wasn't a total shitfest of top 10 lists and clickbait howtos trying to get affiliate or site clicks.
This would be a great update. I too have been looking for this functionality.
I need it to record my son playing sport (batting and bowling) whereby my phone is on a tri pod and im using a remote to pause/restart the video, rather than physically touching the screen every time . Hope this is implemented, would certainly helps for sports...

there's got to be a way to synchronize audio/video. I have tried with Android, Pixel, and multiple camera apps. why don't the audio and video just start and stop at the exact same time and then match up in the app? why is this allowed to go on like nobody gives a s*** for the past forever? like I'm supposed to buy a professional studio setup cuz it's $500 phone don't know how to match a/v?
