Exposure comp screen could hide on timeout or after shutter press?

Exposure comp screen hangs round a long time (indefinitely?). Could it disappear after a few seconds inactivity? Could it disappear when I press the shutter button?

I guess same is true for mode screen, HDR, DRO etc.

I have been trying to take exposure compensated pics from a moving kayak. More fiddly than perhaps it could be. But I didn't drop my phone in the water :) :)
