Version 1.48.3 is released!
The main change is targetting Android 10, which requires supporting Android 10's "scoped storage" which changes how applications are allowed to save files. This means storage permission is no longer required on Android 10+. However it also means users on Android 10+ will see the following differences:
Saving outside of DCIM/ is no longer possible unless using the Storage Access Framework option. If you had set up a custom save folder outside of DCIM/ and are on Android 10+, it will be reset to the default DCIM/OpenCamera/ folder. If you want to continue saving outside of DCIM/, you can enable Settings/More camera controls/"Use Storage Access Framework" and choose a new folder.
If using the Video subtitles option, then the .SRT files will show up in gallery applications, unless Settings/More camera controls/"Use Storage Access Framework" is enabled.
Please see my other post for more details on Open Camera and scoped storage.
Other improvements:
Various bug fixes (including failing to save photos in some cases with Storage Access Framework, and fixes for HDR for some specific scenes).
A seekbar is now used for more preferences in the Settings.
Camera is now closed when in settings or preview otherwise in background.

Hello Mark, I have followed the instruction to be able to save out of DCIM. It works but only if I use Open Camera stand alone (not from within another app). When I try to use it from our app since I did for 3 years, I get the message "failed to save photo".
Could you help?
Thank you.
Is this with Settings/More camera controls/"Use Storage Access Framework" or not? Also which Android version are you on, and which folder are you trying to save to? On Android 10+ this may have been affected by the changes for "scoped storage" mentioned in this post.
Dear,
is-it possible to ask you to modify for the next version to extend the number of digit that you have in the GPS position which is store in the exif information also for the elevation which seems to be limited to integer numbers ?
Also will it be possible to add fix XMP information for all photo ?
Best Regards,
Paul
Hi,
The GPS exif info is stored by the device (or possibly camera driver or Android) rather than being specified by Open Camera.
I wasn't sure what you mean by fix XMP?
Hi Mark,
I use an external GPS sensor which position is used in Android using the developer option 'dummy position application'.
Through this I'm able to have centimeter accurate position.
And I'd would like to store these positions in the photo.
Regarding the XMP, I'd like to add for example these string for all photo :
GPSXY Accuracy : 0.1
GPSZ Accuracy : 0.1
Do you think it's something possible ?
Best Regards,
Paul.
Hi! I've been loving the app so far, but since my last phone's update (it's a Samsung A71), the "immersive mode" its not working correctly: the menu doesn't reappear when I touch the screen, nether when swapping. It's this a known error, and there is a fix? Thank you so much for your work. Vanesa.
Hi, yes unfortunately immersive mode broke in Android 11, I have a fix for the next version (hopefully not too far away now).
Thank you so much for your response, Mark. I'll be waiting the new version. Cheers!

Hi Mark,
this is Hyeyun An, a mobile business manager of Huvle(https://www.huvleview.com/en/).
I really like your app, so I want to propose a business partnership on mobile ads with Open Camera.
I sent you an e-mail a week ago, but unfortunately got no reply.

For all users of Open Camera
please do not use the app with the version number 1.49 or 1.49.1 published in Google Play Store. That app will break the functionality of your camera. It is a buggy software and I suppose that it has nothing to do the one developed by Mark.
As long as people are downloading from the Google Play link on this Sourceforge site or https://opencamera.org.uk (or updating an existing version on their device as usual), this is genuine. If you've encountered a problem with the new version, please let me know.
