What are the issues?
From: David Burgess <david@ra...> - 2012-09-28 20:04:36
We saw this sequence of events:
MS is paged for inbound call
MS responds with RACH, gets VEA assignment to C0T2 FACCH/F and gives Paging Response
OBTS echoes Paging Response in UA frame (contention resolution)
MS and OBTS exchange 5 LAPDm idle frames on FACCH/F
OBTS sends Setup message
(so far, all is normal for a VEA call establishment)
MS sends another RACH burst, within 100 ms of receiving the Setup
MS gets VEA assignment to C0T3 FACCH/F and gives Paging Response again
OBTS closes C0T3 with error cause, since the MS no longer has a call in the paging state
OBTS eventually times out C0T2 FACCH/F because there is no ack to the Setup in LAPDm
What is odd is that the MS abandoned C0T2 with no retries, no cleanup in LAPDm, nothing. It just sent another RACH and tried again on the new channel.
