I am currently trying to set up an OpenBTS system. I am running Ubuntu 10.10 and mostly followed the OpenBTS for dummies tutorial (very helpful, thanks!). At first in installed GnuRadio 3.0, now I also tried GnuRadio 2.9. Nevertheless, I am always running into the same problem. It compiled successfully and the USRP is discover per USB. Then I try to check if the USRP is working successfully using the usrp_benchmark_usb.py script. However, I just get this message and then the program hangs:
"Testing 2MB/sec... uUuUuUuUuUuUuUuUuUuUuUuUuUuUuUuUuUuUuUuUuUuUuUuUuUuUuUuUuUuUuUuUuUuUuUuUuUuUuUuU"
What does this u's and U's mean? Has anyone seen it before?

I saw this explanation:
”a” = audio (sound card) ”O” = overrun (PC not keeping up with
received data from usrp or audio
”U” = underrun (PC not providing data quickly enough)
aUaU == audio underrun (not enough samples ready to send to sound card
sink) uUuU == USRP
underrun (not enough sample ready to send to USRP sink) uOuO == USRP
overrun (USRP samples
dropped because they weren’t read in time.
