Yes, of course I had to connect RX port to TX, and vice versa. Works fine so far.

Regarding SMS trouble, I cleaned up the databases, re-registered the phones, now it works just great. Just phone calls to the Sagems break after the first ring. Two blackberries and an Android phone behaved as they should.

Possible, but won't the uplink and downlink be backwards?

I will try to activate other phones this evening, but at the moment I think the Sagem phones are somehow not perfectly compatible with OpenBTS. I will log in my wifes phones and see how they interact.

By the way, today I slaughtered an old GSM 900 car phone for the duplexer – will be interesting if its separation will be sufficient for the USRP.

Is smqueue running? It looks like it forwarded the message just fine.

That's really weird behavior. Especially the SMS one. What does /tmp/VBTS.log show? What does /var/log/yate show?

Yes, of yourse, they all are registered, they can all make phone calls, only SMS are not forwarded between them, and calls to the older phones are terminated after the first ring, after that a call in absence is showed in the display.

All of the phones are registered?

With the help of this list I got everything running so far that phone calls
between different GSM phones work. With one strange effect, I use ma all day
BlackBerry and two older Sagem phones, a MC 930 and a Sagem GPH 940 what is
almost identical to the MC 930, but GSM-R capable. When calling from the
Sagems to the BlackBerry the call works just fine. When calling to a Sagem
from the other Sagem or the BlackBerry, the Sagem rings only once, and the
call ends before it can be answered.

Known problem with older phones?

Then SMS...sending SMS to myself works, but SMS between the phones is
accepted by the BTS, but not delivered to the recipient.

With best regards

Ralph.
