Hello everybody! My name is Enrique and I am a member of a research group at the University of Vigo (Spain). We are working on the development of a Java based framework for biometric authentication oriented to the web. For this purpose, we have developed a Java Web Start client that allows the use of any BioAPI-compliant software or devices (as UPEK fingeprint scanners) in order to authenticate users. Furthermore, basic face-verification mode based on webcam images of the user and/or voice recording is provided. We are thinking about releasing our framework as an open source project at sourceforge, but we have no experience with licenses and legal issues. As we have used many external source code with several different licenses, there would be a lot of work to do about it. Thus, we are looking for people experienced in dealing with open source and licenses, in order to help us to go on with this goal. If you are interested in this voluntary job, and you think that you could success with it, please contact. Regards, Enrique |
