Hi everyone, This has been a silent year. Everybody was busy with something important, we have missed OLPC deadline, the latest sources and binaries won't work with Firefox 2 and, more generally, development of OpenBerg has been inexistant for about one year. That's bad. However, I have no intention of stopping here. I have resumed work on OpenBerg a few weeks ago, with the beginning of a new prototype. This time, the prototype is fully written in JavaScript, which should save us from the cross-platform/cross-version compilation Hell -- not to mention that programming itself is somewhat easier than with C++. I may also have found a few additional volunteers to work on this prototype. They're bound to be motivated as they're students and they'll get a mark depending on how well they work. I should have a final answer by the end of March. In the meantime, I'd like to know who among you is still interested in helping with OpenBerg. Cheers, David -- David Teller Project OpenBerg http://www.openberg.org Read, write, publish e-Books with open standards and open software |
