I believe the GNU GPL and GNU LGPL permit commercial use of software copyrighted by these licenses. So, it seems to me that a project using retrosheet data from 1984 and later can not copyright under the GNU licneses without the permission of Mr. Harris, mentioned above.

I haven't looked into this. It will depend on whether we want to use their statistics or not.
