&lt;p&gt;An identity has 2 high-level requirements:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;a class="" href="http://openautonomy.com/rpc/application.html" rel="nofollow"&gt;Application RPC Spec&lt;/a&gt; - The RPC specification that must be implemented by all web applications.  Note that this is in addition to any specifications required by the application's capability.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;oa:creator meta-property must be added to the page - This meta tag identifies the application's creator identity's canonical URL.  For example:&lt;br /&gt;
    &amp;lt;meta property="oa:creator" content="http://openautonomy.com/identity.php?instance=0"&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/meta&amp;gt;&lt;/li&gt;
