I'm very excited about the possibility of an Open Source project that would allow me to use AMT. iLO/OOBM stuff has been great for servers. I manage 300+ PC's. We've ordered many new IBM/Lenovo's with AMT and they will be here soon. I hope someday within the coming years that I will be able to control and manage those PC's with an Open Source program on a local GNU/Linux server. Being able to be anywhere and solve a problem quickly is terrific. I won't say 'priceless' since Altiris and Landesk have definitely put a high price on it. But if the standard and specifications are open, it's only a matter of time before there is software to compile for it. I wish I were a programmer!
