Open-Amp X3, what is it?

These past couple of days I have been working on Open-Amp. But instead of working on the Delphi project, I have something else in mind.

Open-Amp X3 is my new idea for the Open-Amp Project. Instead of being a simple Delphi audio player, it will be based on Xmms, known widely as the "Winamp for [GNU/]Linux." Open-Amp to be Re-coded

<p>Open-Amp, an audio player for Windows released under the GPL, is going to be re-designed. Why? Because the original (current) version was built using Delphi 6, it will be recoded with Delphi 4.</p>

<p>Why change it? Because by redesigning Open-Amp, the code will be cleaner, easier to read, and more effiecient. Furthermore, we will be able to reach more people by using an older Delphi version. It will also show that we don't need a new, fancy, expensive version of Delphi in order to make good RAD applications. No one will have to shove out $100+ to even compile the source. </p>... read more
