I recieved this in an email from Jean-Michel Hautecoeur this
morning:
Hello,
For four days now, I cannot use OpenAG X : satellite is not
running and even
if I have to download many files in the queue, no files are coming
to me. My
shared database is full of hundred of files and always seems ok
The last lines in console are :

Relativo//tiziano ferro - Rosso Relativo (Extended Bug
Version).mp3
Found 3342 shares in shares database
Found 9368 shares in share directories
About to merge old and new databases
Removing remaining 0 unfound database records
Adding remaining 9368 new shares...
0 shares were found to both exist in the database and on disk
3342 old shares were ignored because of bad IDs
0 old shares were not found on disk and removed from the
database
In Total: 3342 old shares were removed from the database
9368 new shares were found not in the database and were added

I forgot to mention, here was his subject:
Betreff: OpenAG X Bug Report for version 1.1.1 (cvs 1.38) and mac os
X.1.5 - 512 mo Ram
And...
Here was my response:
Jean-Michel-
Ok. Something very unhappy has happened in your setup.
#1. OpenAG is re-sending all of your 9368 shares each time. That's
bad. It shouldn't do that.
#2. Somehow you're getting NSURL to return a funny error. Probably
when using the in-app search field?
My suggestions:
#1. Reduce the number of files which you are sharing. You have to
share 25, in order to download more than 1 file at a time, but after that...
all teh rest are icing on the cake. If OpenAG is having trouble, i.e.
resending your shares every time, then, that's a problem. You might
also try deleting the folder <Home>/Library/Application Support/OpenAG
That will make OpenAG rebuild it's databases, etc.
From the log, it looks like OpenAG read all your shares, and then
started to send them. It sent all of them, and got back 3342 of them.
But... somehow each of those returned a "bad id" from the Audiogalaxy
server. Either because they have changed something on their servers,
or... I don't know. I will look into it.
OpenAG cannot download while waiting for the server to reply to share
requests... (server side problem), so that's why you haven't been able to
download at all, is because it's just been waiting... and waiting... for the
server to tell it "yes I know what file that is" or "no I don't knwo what file
that is." OpenAG re-sends shares everytime for those which the server
replied "no, I don't know what file that is." Probably a bad thing... and
something that I will at least make an option in the future.
Anyway. Your bug report has been very helpful.
I'm sorry I can't give you a more helpful answer at the moment.
Rest assured, I will look into the problem further, and incorporate the
necessary fixes in 1.2. If you would like, I can send you a developers
copy of 1.2 early, so you can test things.
Once again. Your best bet is to reduce the number of shares you are
sharing to a smaller number (under 1000), and to delete that folder I
mentioned above.
Please don't hesitate to contact me further if I can be of more
assistance.
Sincerely,
Eric Seidel

p.s. I will also likely file your email on the Project Bug Tracking system.
If I do so, I will send you a link so that you can post further comments
there, and also enter your email at the Bug item to automatically "track"
the fixing of the bug.
