Open3SP makes its first alpha release

Open3SP is a unique system administration framework that provides a secure administrative infrastructure based on the SSH protocol. The aims of the project are to establish platform independent role based access, automated configuration and software/patch deployment.

This first release enables the administrator to create a hierarchy of organizational units/systems and a set of users/roles to enforce access policy. User access configuration to the SSH servers is automated, with both OpenSSH and SSH2 standardized server implementations supported.

The server itself is an SSH server and is accessible from any standard SSH client that supports keyboard-interactive authentication. Once connected, the Open3SP interactive shell provides commands to manage organizational units, systems, users and their roles; additionally the shell provides single-sign on shell access to all the managed systems.

A user guide that steps through all the operations is available and can be downloaded along with the server from http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=75090

The servers full feature set is listed here http://sourceforge.net/project/shownotes.php?group_id=75090&release_id=152128
