o-v-t should compile on Solaris 11. I've been testing compiling the package on
an older OpenSolaris release (2009.06), but things should work the same on the
official Solaris 11 release, as long as you have all the needed packages installed.
As for stable, the dated releases (like 2011.11.20) are development snapshots;
while they should mostly work, they're not necessarily completely stable yet, on
any platform.
If you're looking for stability you should try the numbered releases (like 8.6.0
or 8.8.1).
