Issue with packages at packages.vmware.com

Not sure where to post this as a message at vmware's open vm-tools
list went unanswered.

After install their packages in a fresh CentOS 5x86 vm on esx 4, any
later installs with yum yield ldconfig mmap errors on various libvmc*
files.

Anyone know why?
