Just before that comment is another one:

I can't find any references to "panoramix" (or xinerama, since I think panoramix is the old name for it) in the rest of the file. The actual miregion.c file in the xorg repository still has the notice too, even though I don't see any references to panoramix in that file when I dig through the git history.

I think it might be safe to remove the notice, but I'll double check with our legal department and ping the xorg guys. Thanks for reporting this issue.
