I notice that in:
/etc/comoonics/bootimage/rpms.initrd.d/baselibs.list
there is coreutils - unfiltered.
This is about 9MB on RHEL5. What about replacing this with busybox?
That's only 2.4MB, and seems to include everything I can think of that
the OSR init root might require.
Granted, 9MB->2.4MB isn't as big a saving as some of the other recent
ones, but it might be worth having if it doesn't end up being too
involved to switch.
Thoughts?
