I just had a slightly different idea about all this. There appear to be iSCSI initiator tools to get the root fs over iSCSI working. If this works, then would it not be better to just use that to just get the iSCSI boot-strapped, mount the gfs with lock_nolock read-only, use that to get the init booting, get the cman/fence working, and then remount root r/w with lock_dlm? Would this not yield a smaller initrd and simplify the process? What would be the drawbacks of this approach? Gordan |
