Hi Stefano,
everything looks ok.

Too mount the clusterfs to /mnt/newroot is ok. 
First the rootfs is mounted to /mnt/newroot and later on changed to /.

But what happens then? Is the bootprocess hanging?

The only thing I can see is that you should uncomment the first line 
in /etc/fstab:
