Do you know much about KNOPPIX? Hear street talk 'n such?
Dirt easy to cut custom live boot images with, and I'm still leaning toward it for some virtual machine experiments.
I have used knoppix for these purposes
Testing - when using CD / DVD boot options you get a clean OS (with out anything installed). So if your install works, it is not because there was something left over from the last test
Under Windows (in a VM). I had much less trouble installing knoppix in a VM (compared to the big installations like Ubuntu/Fedora). Also a light weight GUI like LXDE (used in knoppix) is better suited to a VM than KDE / Gnome.
last time I check, there are some issues with knoppix
Depending on what you are doing, knoppix can be a good choice for running in a VM
Thanks Bruce. Good info. And the plan is to make it easy to startup VMs with GNU Cobol and other development goodies installed for demonstrations and trials.
Sounds like a good use for Knoppix
