The time has come to transfer the development leadership of TORCH to
someone with a more active stake in the future of TORCH.
My personal goals have taken a good deal of time away from TORCH
development and this has had a negative effect on its progress. I will
remain active in the open source health care community working on and
consulting with several different projects and businesses as well
continuing my MSc in Health Informatics studies and working with
expanding the role of open source within AMIA and the informatics
community at large.
Dr. Michael Rowley has agreed to accept the lead development role of
TORCH and Dr. Steve Vaitl will be assisting with management and hosting
as they see fit. I will continue to be involved in a support role where
needed and have made myself available to them during this transition
phase. The SourceForge site will remain and the documentation from
openparadigms.com will be transferred over the next month or two.
I still believe fully in the TORCH vision and the development model that
will allow TORCH to become an openEHR implementation at some point.
I want to thank all of those that have supported this project up to this
point and I am certain we will see great things come from Michael's
leadership into the future.
