I opened a new RFE on this features, but I thought it would be a good idea to discuss this here before addressing it. Here's the RFE: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1700617&group_id=119701&atid=684733 As currently implemented, the array~supplier for multi-dimensional arrays is returning a string value for the index. Which is fine if all you wish to do is use the value on a SAY statement, but not terrible useful if you're manipulating the source array using the supplier values. A more useful index result would be an array of the individual indexes. An array index can be used in the FORWARD instruction or the MESSAGE class to invoke methods on an array using the index values. If the string value of the index is required, then the array MAKESTRING method can turn it into a string rep. Do people agree, disagree, not care? Rick |
